Product Review-The North Face Sentinel Thermal Jacket

Working for a privately owned North Face store has some huge advantages, many of which include plenty of time to play in and around our mountain town as well as the feeling you get when you are truely enhancing the local economy. Another GREAT thing is all of the free stuff. Susan loves to dress us up in the latest and greatest The North Face has to offer.....every season. We, like everyone else in the industry, get tremendous pro deals from The North Face, but nothing is better than a gift!

New for this upcoming winter season is the Mens and Womens Sentinel Thermal Jacket and let me tell you, it is warm and comfortable. This Gore Windstopper piece uses a fabric that is exclusive to The North Face. That means that you can only get a jacket of this caliber from The North Face and we are very proud of it. This jacket is a true Summit Series classic that will be a great 4-season addition to your outerwear collection. The softshell exterior has a very soft handfeel yet keeps all of the wind and most of the water out. The interior is a high loft thermal fleece fabric that adds the perfect amount of insulation and comfort to this piece. It is well worth it to spend the extra money on a Gore Windstopper softshell because of the added breathability you get in comparison to other windproof softshells. In-house windproof fabrics rely on the density of the woven polyester to keep out the elements. This makes for a more "boardy" and stiffer feel and hinders breathability. Gore Windstopper uses a windproof membrane, a seperate piece of material, that keeps it all out while allowing moisture to pass through away from the body.
